It nice controls for the touchscreen too. At any case it was one, if not the best RTs on the applestore. Probally some case of lawsuit with blizzard or because it was not supported anymore. And the best part was that you could play it via bluetooth with friends from ipod and iphone to an other.įor some reason they didnt update it anymore, and it got removed from the applestore. But just like starcraft 3 races( though other designs). That had actually many of the same designs for the gas and stuff. I just recall the Ipod/ Iphone/ itunes game “starfront” that was basicly a starcraft 1/2 clone. But i would rather suspect that there arent any or very few rts games on the switch. Sure, you have some exceptions like the Blizzard Arcade Collection but those titles were primarily designed with consoles in mind so the investment didn’t involve much in the way of redesigns.Īs with other fans, I’d definitely buy it if it came out as I’d do just about anything to play the 2-player secret mission Resurrection IV in some official version without having to get an N64 and the game, play through every mission, unlock every cheat code, and then either find someone to play with in-person or make due playing by myself with two controllers.īut I can’t imagine any situation where Blizzard would move ahead with it at this point. They’re focused almost entirely on Overwatch, Warcraft, and Diablo right now. Then we have the fact that Blizzard has shown virtually no interest in the Starcraft franchise beyond maintenance and ladder seasons and a handful of licensed merchandise. It could certainly be done but it still wouldn’t play as well as it does with a mouse and keyboard. I’m sure Nintendo would be fine allowing it on their system but it would take a lot of work to create a version that anyone would enjoy, including some really innovative use of the buttons and touch screen. Starcraft 64 played really poorly if you were at all used to the PC version and they had to scale back the graphics and removed a massive amount of the music and voice lines.
